Upper Lachlan Shire Council is excited to launch the Towards 2042 consultation, which will shape the future of our community.
Through the Towards 2042 project, Council will guide the community through important discussions on the main ideas and priorities for our local government area for the next 10 years and document these in a Community Strategic Plan.
“This is a great opportunity to share your ideas and influence our future. It’s your chance to envisage what you, your friends, family and the wider community will need to grow and thrive towards 2042.”
Towards 2042, community consultation will commence with a range of activities across the local government area, including a survey which can be completed online at haveyoursayupperlachlan.com.au .
Mayor Cr John Stafford shared that he looked forward to collaborating with the community on this critical project.
“I encourage everyone to get involved during June and July and to have their say,” he said.
“We’ve got full details on how to get involved on our website. There will be several opportunities for people to conveniently share their thoughts, including surveys, and community drop in sessions,” Cr Stafford said.
“We all have aspirations for a better future. Towards 2042 allows us to consider what we love about where we live, what we’d like our future to look like, and how we will get there. Together, we can document a future vision that respects our unique local area and lifestyle.”
Towards 2042 asks the local community some key questions, focusing on where we are now, where we want to be in ten years, how we will get there, and how we will know if we’ve been successful.
Council has a custodial role in initiating and preparing the Community Strategic Plan, but it is a community plan. Many partners, such as state agencies and community groups, will be responsible for its implementation. The Community Strategic Plan ensures the whole community is working towards a shared vision for a better future.
