Drawing attention to the temporary amenities and artworks installed as part of the Share R Streets program, a Celebrate our Streets event took place in Crookwell on Saturday 13 March, starting with events in the Pat Cullen Reserve alongside the newly installed temporary outdoor table tennis table.
Activities included a free BBQ, a bouncy castle, a visit by Hefner the alpaca and table tennis matches on the table tennis table.
State Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman joined Mayor Cr John Stafford and General Manager Colleen Worthy in speaking about the quality of the amenities and the opportunity they provided members of the public for feedback on what elements they liked and which they didn’t.
After the events in Pat Cullen Reserve on Saturday, buskers sang alongside three of the Share R Streets installations (near the planter boxes in front of Paul’s Cafe, at the parklet in front of Arcadia and around the corner from the railway mural at the corner of Roberts and Goulburn Street), while face painting and badge making took place near the murals at the amenities block in Goulburn Street.
The busking part of the celebrations included the launch of a new CD by Crookwell’s own Mariah K who busked in front of her family’s business, Paul’s Café.
