The community engagement hub of the Upper Lachlan

Draft Character Statements feedback

November 17, 2021

The Upper Lachlan Shire Council consulted with the communities of Taralga, Laggan, Crookwell Gunning and Collector about their views of the local character and aspirations for the future, collecting this information as Character Statements.

Character Statements are one of the tools that will lead to amendments to the planning regulations in the Upper Lachlan. Along with Master Plans, they add a layer of detail that will help us make decisions and draw alternative economic and social activity to the shire.

In the coming months, we will reach out to discuss master planning for Gunning and Crookwell and the other villages later.

Right now, we would like to hear from you about what we believe we heard. The documents are attached. If you would like to add something or have alternative views, this is your opportunity to let us know.

The documents on exhibition are the draft character statements for Taralga, Laggan, Crookwell, Gunning and Collector. They will be on display for 28 days (from 17/11/2021), and you can comment below or by writing to planning@upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au.
