Upper Lachlan Shire Council is guided by the following Vision, Mission and Aims:
Tablelands Regional Council’s Vision
To build and maintain sustainable communities while retaining the region’s natural beauty.
To provide services and facilities to enhance the quality of life and economic viability within the Council area.
To perform services in a cost efficient, effective and friendly manner in order to achieve Council’s Mission in meeting the annual objectives and performance targets of the principal activities Council undertakes on behalf of the community.

Managing non-urban land with special attention to its productivity, environmental heritage and changing land use demand is a primary focus of Council.
Council also seeks to make land available for residential, commercial and lifestyle opportunities and also seeks to foster growth in the tourism sector will provide new opportunities for additional income and bring new visitor experiences.
The combination of this Vision, this Mission, these Aims and these focuses guide Council as it reflects the past, caters for the present and looks to the future of the Shire.
